Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay his last respects at the ground breaking ceremony of the new Parliament House building on December 10. The new parliament building will be earthquake proof. Rs 971 crore will be spent for the construction of this building and the building will be constructed in 64,500 square meters. The new building will be 17,000 square meters larger than the old one. The contract for this work has been awarded to Tata Project Limited. There will be about 888 seats for Lok Sabha members and the new building will have more than 326 seats for Rajya Sabha members. Also, the Lok Sabha hall can seat 1,224 members at a time, said Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
