Varanasi: Police in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested a puppet IPS officer. He was making money by trapping women in friendship. Akhilesh Mishra, a puppet IPS officer, has defrauded several women in different parts of the city. Millions of rupees have been boiled down from them.
According to information received, Akhilesh Mishra used to post photos of himself in police uniform on social networking sites. He also used to chat with young women and women. He used to lure them into friendship and extort money from them. A few days ago, Akhilesh cheated on a teacher by dragging her into a friendship trap. Akhilesh told the teacher that he was an IPS officer and embezzled Rs 1 lakh 60 thousand. After she became suspicious, she lodged a complaint against him at the Kent Police Station. Police arrested him on Monday from Chowk Ghat area.
During the police interrogation, it was learned that Akhilesh had allegedly assaulted several people by claiming to be a RAW officer. Akhilesh is a resident of Shahenshahpur within the limits of Rohania Police Station in Varanasi. Akhilesh is currently in police custody and is being questioned.
