Oxygen Crisis: Son of ‘Param Vir Chakra’ winner Abdul Hameed dies due to lack of oxygen

Kanpur: Abdul Hameed’s son, who was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, died in the 1965 war against Pakistan. Abdul Hameed’s 61-year-old son Ali Hassan is undergoing treatment at Halat Hospital. But, due to lack of oxygen, Ali Hassan gave up his life. Ali Hassan’s family desperately demanded oxygen from the doctors, but the doctors did not succeed in providing oxygen.

Family request for oxygen

According to Ali Hassan’s family, his condition deteriorated on April 21. He was rushed to Halat Hospital overnight after he was found to have difficulty breathing. Ali Hassan’s condition improved after doctors gave him artificial oxygen. But four hours later, Ali Hassan’s condition improved and doctors removed the oxygen.

After his health deteriorated again, the family kept requesting oxygen from the doctor. But, the doctor asked me to arrange an oxygen cylinder from outside. However, Ali Hassan died before any arrangements could be made.

The corona was not even tested

The hospital handed over Hassan Ali’s body to his family without conducting a corona test. Hasan Ali’s body was laid to rest at Ganj Shahida Cemetery on Friday evening.

Legacy of Veer Abdul Hameed

Paramvir Chakra winner Abdul Hameed had single-handedly destroyed several enemy tankers in the war against Pakistan. Veer Abdul Hameed’s family originally settled in Ghazipur. However, his second son Ali Hassan was living with his family in Syed Nagar, Kanpur. Ali Hassan’s family includes his wife Farida Nasreen, son Salim Javed, Tanveer and daughters Rabia, Salma and Gajala. Ali Hassan retired from the OFC in 2016. He had settled in Kanpur after retirement.
