As announced by Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, the state is spreading the Corona infection faster than Delhi and Maharashtra. Therefore, curfew is being imposed in the state for 14 days. The day and night curfew in Karnataka will start from tomorrow night.
Only essential services will be exempted during these strict restrictions. Only four grocery and essentials shops were allowed to open. The manufacturing sector will remain open but the garment and construction sectors will remain closed. Given Corona’s situation, the strictures of the ban have been handed over to local authorities.

The Chief Minister has made another announcement along with these restrictions. Accordingly, free vaccination will be given to persons above 18 years of age in government hospitals in the state from May 1. A free vaccination campaign is already underway for people over the age of 45.
More than 10,000 patients are being registered in Karnataka every day. At present, the number of active patients in Karnataka has reached 2.62 lakh. Karnataka is the third most affected state in the country in terms of number of active patients. More than 14,000 people have lost their lives in the state due to Corona.
Before Karnataka, Maharashtra, Delhi and Rajasthan have also imposed strict restrictions for two weeks. Curfew or weekend lockdown will be imposed in affected cities in states like Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
