Chennai: Many question marks are being raised against the Election Commission for holding assembly elections at a time when the Corona transition has reached its peak in the country. Meanwhile, the Madras High Court slammed the Election Commission for allowing political rallies and rallies during the Corona transition.

The Election Commission is one-sidedly responsible for the second wave of Corona infections and Election Commission officials may be charged with murder, the High Court said during the hearing.

The High Court has warned the Election Commission not to get the ‘blue print’ of the counting of votes but to give cash on the counting of votes as well. The results of the Assembly elections in West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Assam and Puducherry will be announced on May 2.

According to the High Court, even after the court order, the Election Commission failed to enforce cowardly rules such as social discrimination, use of masks and sanitizers during the election campaign, stating, “Were you on another planet when election rallies were being held?” This angry question was asked by Chief Justice Sanjeeb Banerjee to the Election Commission.

On May 2, the day of the counting of votes, the High Court gave the Election Commission till Friday to provide detailed information about the plan to implement the Corona rules. The High Court also warned that the counting of votes could be stopped if unsatisfactory information is not received.

The court also told the Election Commission that the health of the people is a priority and the constitutional authorities should never forget this and only if they survive can the citizens exercise their rights.
