A tweet was made from the Twitter handle of the New Zealand embassy on Sunday morning. In the tweet, the embassy had sought the help of Youth Congress national president BV Srinivas to get an oxygen cylinder.
In this tweet, the embassy had also tagged the SOS Twitter account of the Congress. ‘Can you arrange for the oxygen cylinder to be delivered to the New Zealand embassy immediately? “Thank you,” the embassy said in a tweet.
After seeing the tweet, Congress leader Srinivas immediately arranged for an oxygen cylinder and delivered it to the embassy. Earlier on Saturday night, an oxygen cylinder was delivered to the Philippine embassy by the Congress.
After this argument arose, ‘We tried to reach out to all sources to arrange the oxygen cylinder immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you, “said David Cook, chief of The Christian Science Monitor’s Washington bureau.
War of words between Congress and BJP
The dispute between the BJP and the Congress began with the supply of oxygen cylinders to foreign embassies. Congress questioned the efficiency of the government.
The embassy’s tweet sparked a major controversy. The foreign embassy was accused of seeking help from opposition leaders. This sparked a new controversy on social media.
“I am disturbed to know that the foreign embassy has to seek help from the Leader of the Opposition. Is the Ministry of External Affairs asleep?” This question was raised by Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Jairam Ramesh.
The foreign minister tweeted that the Congress was playing politics. ‘The Ministry of Foreign Affairs never sleeps. Our people are all over the world. We know who is doing what, ”replied Jaishankar.
The Ministry of External Affairs is in touch with all the high commissions and embassies. Immediate action is being taken on all their medical demands, especially those related to Kovid. This includes their treatment facilities at the hospital, ‘tweeted Arindam Bagchi, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs.
However, BJP leader and Lok Sabha MP Tejaswi Surya said the SOS (emergency call) call from the Philippine embassy was fake.
Tejaswi Surya also claimed that the Youth Congress has the medical equipment it should have in a hospital, and that it is an attempt to bring India down on the international stage.
