Political career
Jarnail Singh came into the limelight after throwing sandals at the then Home Minister P Chidambaram. He then contested and won the election on AAP ticket. In 2014, Jarnail Singh was an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Delhi’s Rajouri Garden constituency. In the Punjab Assembly elections, you made him your face and he resigned from the Assembly. In the 2017 Assembly elections in Punjab, Jarnail Singh had contested from Lambi constituency against former Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and current Chief Minister Amarinder Singh. After losing the Punjab Assembly elections, he was elected Vice President of the Punjab Academy in Delhi.
In August 2020, AAP had suspended Jarnail Singh from the party and also denied him a ticket. Jarnail Singh, 47, was prosecuted last year for commenting on Hindu deities on Facebook.
