New Delhi: The price of the Russian-made ‘Sputnik V’ anti-corona vaccine in India has finally been announced. According to Doctor Reddy Laboratories, the imported Sputnik V vaccine will cost around Rs 1,000. The basic price of the vaccine will be Rs 948 plus 5 per cent GST (Rs 47.40) for each dose of the vaccine. Therefore, the beneficiaries will have to pay a total of Rs 995.40 for each dose of this vaccine. However, the cost of a dose of Sputnik V vaccine manufactured in India may be slightly lower.

Citizens will have to take a total of two doses of Sputnik V vaccine. Therefore, the beneficiaries will have to pay Rs 2,000 for both the doses.

In India, Dr. Deepak Sapra, Global Head, Custom Pharma Services, Reddy’s Laboratories, was given the first dose of Sputnik V vaccine in Hyderabad.

The two vaccines currently in use in India are Covacin and Covishield. In addition, the Sputnik V vaccine will now be introduced. The direct sale of the vaccine is likely to start from next week, the health ministry said.
