Chitrakoot, Uttar Pradesh Inmates in Chitrakoot in Uttar Pradesh were shot dead on Friday. In it, Western UP gangster Anshu Dixit shot and killed Meraj and Mukim Kala of Mukhtar Ansari gang. The slain Maraj was sent here from Varanasi jail. Mukim Kala was brought here from Saharanpur.

Police rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident. Police appealed to Anshu Dixit to surrender. But he refused and continued firing. He was also killed in the police action.

Report requested by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has sought a report from the state’s Director General of Police (Prisons) on the Chitrakoot shooting. In the next 6 hours, Commissioner of Police D. K. Adityanath has directed Singh, Inspector General of Police K Satyanarayana and Additional Director General (Prisons) Sanjeev Tripathi to submit an investigation report in the case.

Anshu had threatened to kill some more prisoners

Anshu Dixit, a notorious gangster from western UP, opened fire on Meraj Ahmed and Mukim Kala, both inmates, after a morning parade. Both died on the spot in the attack. After this, Anshu was firing in the jail.

Anshu Dixit had threatened to kill some other inmates of the jail. Prison staff could not reach him for about half an hour. He was killed in the encounter when police arrived. It is said that Anshu Dixit had threatened to kill three other people besides Mukim and Meraj.

The pistol reached Anshu at 9.30 am

Some time ago, the number of prisoners was counted. Most of the prisoners were outside the barracks. Meanwhile, two prisoners entered Anshu’s barracks with raw gram and jaggery in a bucket. After returning with the gram, Anshu pulled out a pistol and shot Meraj and Mukim, killing them. It is suspected that Anshu was given a pistol along with breakfast.
