DRDO’s ‘2 DG’ ready on Corona, 10,000 doses will be available soon

New Delhi: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has developed a drug called ‘2 deoxy D Glucose’ for the treatment of corona infections. The first batch of 10,000 doses of this drug is expected to be available today or tomorrow (Sunday). At the same time, there will be an emphasis on increasing the production of this drug.

How is this medicine used?

According to experts, when a virus enters the body, it deceives human cells and increases the number of other viruses like ours. For this, he steals a large amount of protein from the cells. The drug, developed by DRDO, is a pseudo-glucose, which helps prevent the spread of the virus.

According to the information provided by the Government of India, 2DG is available in powder form. This medicine can be taken mixed with water. The virus enters the infected cells and helps the body to control the number of viruses.

It is a drug similar to glucose. This drug can be produced in a very simple way. Therefore, it can be easily available across the country, said DRDO.

The drug has been developed by the Institute of Nuclear Medicine and Alliance Sciences (INMAS) as well as the Hyderabad Center for Cellular and Molecular Biology (CCMB). The drug was approved for emergency use by the Drug Controller General of India (DGCI) for the treatment of coronary heart disease.

Large-scale production continues
