New Delhi: A covid vaccine is being launched in the country to prevent coronavirus. But there is a shortage of vaccines in many states. This has hit the 18- to 44-year-old vaccination campaign in the states hard. Suresh Jadhav, now the executive director of the Serum Institute of India, revealed a big piece of information on Friday. Jadhav said that the vaccination of several adults was approved at the same time without knowing the stock of vaccine on corona and without considering the guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO).

This statement was made by Suresh Jadhav in an e-conference organized by Heal Health. India should follow the guidelines issued by the WHO and be vaccinated accordingly, Jadhav said.

Initially, 30 crore people were to be vaccinated in the country. It required 60 crore doses. But before reaching this target, the government approved vaccination of all citizens above 45 years of age and thereafter over 18 years of age. Jadhav said the government had approved the vaccine even though it was not available in such large quantities.

We have learned a great lesson from this. You have to consider the availability of the product and then use it properly. Vaccination is needed. But even after taking the vaccine dose, the citizens are getting infected. This requires citizens to take precautions and follow the rules to prevent corona infection. The vaccine is also effective against double mutants of the corona in India. However, these variants can cause problems, he explained.

We can take any one of the vaccines that have been made available. But the vaccine must have been approved by the regulator. Also, it would be hasty to say which vaccine is effective and which is not, said Suresh Jadhav.
