The president of the hospital’s Institute of Gastroenterology and Pancreaticobiliary Sciences, Dr. According to Anil Arora, this is the first case of white fungus in Corona virus infection. “To the best of our knowledge, no cases of coronavirus infection with a white fungus have been reported in the esophagus, small intestine, or large intestine,” Arora said.
According to doctors, the 49-year-old woman had abdominal pain. She also suffered from vomiting and constipation. She was admitted to Sir Gangaram Hospital on May 13. The woman had her breasts removed last year due to breast cancer and had undergone chemotherapy four weeks ago.
A CT scan of the patient’s abdomen revealed water and air in the abdomen. This condition occurs when there is a hole in the intestine. The next day the patient underwent surgery. At this time, some holes were also found in the lower part of the esophagus. This part was removed due to gangrene in one part of the small intestine, said Dr. Arora said.
The woman, who tested positive for Covid 19, had a large body of antibodies. The woman was given anti-fungal drugs after she developed a fungal infection. Doctors said the woman’s condition was stable.
