UP elections: Owaisi announces to field candidates for 100 seats

Lucknow: Asaduddin Owaisi’s party AIMIM is also gearing up for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections. Asaduddin Owaisi has made it clear that AIMIM may join hands with the Bahujan Samaj Party in next year’s elections.

‘I would like to present to you some things regarding the Uttar Pradesh elections. We have decided to field candidates for 100 seats. The party has started the selection process for the candidates and we have also sent applications to the candidates, ‘tweeted AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi.

In Uttar Pradesh, there is talk of Mayawati’s party joining hands with BSP and AIMIM in the forthcoming Assembly elections. However, BSP president Mayawati denied the news in a tweet. ‘This is misleading and factless news. There is no truth in this’, Mayawati had said. Similarly, Owaisi has also played his role now.

At the same time, Mayawati has made it clear that her party will fight this battle without joining hands with any party in the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand from Punjab.
