New Delhi: More than 100 people have been killed in landslides in Maharashtra so far, said NDRF Director General S. N. Given by Pradhan. The highest number of 44 bodies have been recovered from Taliye village in Raigad district. He said rescue operations were still underway in Raigad, Ratnagiri and Satara. A total of 47 people are still missing in these three districts. There are 34 NDRF teams deployed in Maharashtra. The teams are deployed in Taliye in Raigad, Porse in Ratnagiri and Mirgaon, Ambeghar and Dhokwale in Satara, said Pradhan.

Due to torrential rains, the Krishna river in Sangli and the Panchganga in Kolhapur have been flooded.

Many districts in Bihar have also been inundated by torrential rains. Two more to three days of torrential rains have been warned in these districts. The Uttar Pradesh Meteorological Department has issued an alert in the state. More than 100 villages in the state are at risk of recurrence. In Uttarakhand, torrential rains have been warned from Sunday to Wednesday. Heavy rains are also forecast in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and western Uttar Pradesh in the next two to three days. In Rajasthan too, torrential rains have been forecast for Jaipur, Bharatpur, Kota, Udaipur and Ajmer in the next three to four days. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert in the state. The monsoon is expected to remain active in the state till June 27.
