Police Inspector Ajay Desai and his friend Kirit Singh Jadeja have been charged with murder and attempting to destroy evidence.

Accused police inspector Ajay Desai and Sweety Patel had a heated argument on the night of June 4. The quarrel was over Ajay Desai’s second marriage a few years back. The quarrel escalated to the point that Ajay Desai strangled Sweety Patel and killed her. Her body was later kept at home. The next morning Sweetie’s body was wrapped in a sheet and placed in her car. He then called her brother and told her that she was missing.

Accused Ajay Desai then drove to his friend Kirit Singh Jadeja’s hotel on the Curzon-Dahej highway. An attempt was made to burn Sweety Patel’s body there. Sweety Patel was living in a live-in relationship with accused police inspector Ajay Desai. Ajay Desai had a previous marriage. But he was different from that. After this Ajay Desai came in contact with Sweety Patel. While living with Sweety, he married another woman for the second time, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Paramveer Singh said.

Ajay Desai and Sweety Patel met at an event in 2015. At that time, Sweetie was going to have her second marriage. After this she got married and she left for America. But due to a marital dispute, she returned to India a month later. After this, Sweety and Desai came closer to each other. They began living in a live-in. From this relationship they also had a child. After this Ajay Desai married another woman. Due to Ajay Desai’s second marriage, Sweety started quarreling with him. Their relationship deteriorated.
