The security forces had received a tip-off that some terrorists were hiding in the Avantipora area. The jawans then quickly took over the area. After confronting the terrorists, the jawans appealed to them to surrender and gave them a chance to save their lives. But, the security forces came under fire from the terrorists.
In response, security forces opened fire on the militants. Three members of the Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group are believed to have been killed in the clashes. The terrorists have not been identified yet.
The clash took place at the top of the Nagberan Trouble Forest in Avantipora. There is an atmosphere of terror among the citizens living in the area after the clashes.
The operation was jointly conducted by Jammu and Kashmir Police and Indian Army personnel.
Two terrorists were killed on Friday
Earlier, security forces had nabbed two militants on Friday. In a clash in Pulwama district, security forces killed two Hizbul Mujahideen militants. The killing of civilians was on these two terrorists. The terrorists broke into the house of 35-year-old Javed Ahmed, an education department employee, and shot him dead.
