According to the Union Finance Ministry, 43.76 crore Jandhan accounts have been opened in the country so far. So far, 31.67 crore debit cards have been distributed to customers who have opened Jandhan accounts. Through this, free accident insurance of Rs. 2 lakhs per annum is being provided to the concerned. The number of accounts opened under the scheme was 14.72 crore till March 2015, it has increased to 43.76 crore by October 2021. 55% of the total account holders.
