Jharkhand: Prashant Bose arrested, Maoists blast on railway tracks

Ranchi: Naxals set off blasts on railway tracks in protest of the arrest of Communist Party of India (Maoist) leader Prashant Bose and his wife Sheila Marandi. The railway line between Sonuwa and Lotapahad railway stations in Chakradharpur area of ​​Jharkhand has been blown up. The incident took place around 2.00 pm on Friday-Saturday night. This affected up-and-down traffic on the Mumbai-Howrah railway line. Several trains were stopped at different railway stations. Security agencies have been alerted.

Shortly after the blast, the Mumbai-Howrah Mail was to cross the line. However, the Mumbai-Howrah mail was stopped before it could reach the spot after the loud blast.

Explosions on railway tracks in Latehar too

Earlier, a bomb had exploded on a railway track between Tori and Latehar at around 1.00 pm on Friday. After this incident, the traffic on this track also had to be stopped. Railway team has started work on the tracks.
