New Delhi: Rajasthan’s politics are showing signs of a major earthquake. A meeting of Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will be held at 5.00 pm today. It is said that all the ministers in Gehlot’s cabinet will submit their resignations in this meeting. Ashok Gehlot is also expected to meet the governor after the cabinet meeting.

Earlier, three cabinet ministers had tendered their resignations and the resignations were also accepted by the chief minister. Education Minister Govind Singh Dotsara, Health Minister Raghu Sharma and Revenue Minister Harish Chaudhary are among those who have resigned. All the three ministers had written a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi expressing their desire to resign.

It is noteworthy that the resignation was not announced by the resigning minister but by senior Congress leader Ajay Maken. After the sudden arrival of Rajasthan Congress in-charge Ajay Maken in Jaipur yesterday evening, rumors started circulating in the Congress that not everything was alright. “Three ministers of the Gehlot government have resigned and they want to work for the party,” Maken said.

However, in the power struggle between Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, the discussion is going on in the political circles.

For the last several months, the conflict between the Sachin Pilot group and the Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot group has been coming to the fore on different occasions. The pilot group demands that you get more opportunities in power. In this context, there is a possibility of a reshuffle in the cabinet.

After the resignation of three ministers, the way is now open for 12 new ministers to get a chance in the cabinet. Therefore, the cabinet expansion of the Gehlot government is likely to be announced soon.
