The patient found in Maharashtra is a resident of Kalyan Dombivali Municipal Corporation area and has come to Mumbai from Cape Town, South Africa via Dubai and Delhi. He is currently undergoing treatment at Kovid Care Center in Kalyan Dombivali.

The patient was found first in Gujarat and then in Maharashtra

An Omicron patient was found at Jamnagar in Gujarat. The man returned from Zimbabwe two days ago. His RT-PCR test at the airport was positive. Its samples were then sent for genome sequencing. When he received the report, it became clear that he was infected with Omicron. Concerns have been raised in Gujarat as well as in Maharashtra as Omicron patients have been found.

Karnataka took an important decision

Significant steps are being taken at the central and state levels in view of the growing threat of Omicron. As the number of patients increases, tough decisions are likely to be taken. The Karnataka government has issued a new order stating that if more than three Kovid patients are found in any one place, separate rules will be framed accordingly. Earlier, if more than ten patients were found, it was considered a cluster. Kovid rules have been tightened in Karnataka on Friday. Accordingly, some new restrictions have been imposed.
