Punjab CM Channi: Channi finally met Prime Minister Modi !; What exactly happened?

Chandigarh:Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held a review meeting of the Chief Ministers of all the states on the Kovid situation. Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channy was also present at the meeting which was held through video conferencing. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a visit to Punjab on January 5. Bhumi Pujan of various ambitious projects was to be held by him at Ferozepur. Earlier, he was scheduled to visit the National Martyrs’ Memorial at Hussainiwala. Due to bad weather, the Prime Minister left Bathinda by road instead of by air. Meanwhile, on the way to Hussainiwala, protesters blocked Prime Minister Modi’s convoy. For about 15 to 20 minutes, the Prime Minister’s convoy stood in one place. This raised serious security concerns. After that, considering the potential danger, the Prime Minister canceled all further events and returned. Later, while talking to officials at Bhatinda Airport, the Prime Minister made a serious statement. ‘I was able to return alive. Give my thanks to your Chief Minister ‘, the Prime Minister had said. A big storm had risen from it. Commenting on this, Chief Minister Channy had clarified that there was no threat to the security of the Prime Minister and also claimed that there was no security breach. Meanwhile, the apex court has appointed a committee comprising retired Justice Indu Malhotra, Director General of NIA, Director General of Police of Chandigarh and Additional Director General of Police of Punjab to probe the matter. Against this backdrop, for the first time on Thursday, Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Channy came face to face on the occasion of the Kovid review meeting.

The Prime Minister interacted with the Chief Ministers of all the states and inquired from them about the situation in the state. Speaking on the occasion, Channy once again lamented the incident in Punjab over the security of the Prime Minister. “We respect the prime minister. We are sorry for what happened during your visit to Punjab, “Channy said, praying for the Prime Minister’s longevity. Channy also spoke for the Prime Minister. “May you be safe till the Day of Judgment and may God not be the Day of Judgment”, Channi expressed his feelings in such words. Channy interacted with the Prime Minister on the occasion of the Kovid review meeting and tried to reduce the tension between the Center and the state.
