Akbaruddin Owaisi was arrested in connection with the alleged controversial speech. He had given speeches in Nizamabad on December 8, 2012 and in Nirmal on December 22. He was later arrested. However, he was later granted bail. The state criminal investigation department had investigated the case and filed a chargesheet in 2016.
A video surfaced in 2012. In that video, Akbaruddin Owaisi had said in his speech that if police were removed for 15 minutes, 25 crore Muslims could wipe out 100 crore Hindus.
