Amravati: A tragic train accident took place late Monday night in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district. According to the information received, the express train bound for Guwahati had stopped near Butwa village due to a technical glitch. As a result, some passengers of the train derailed, but at the same time, they were hit by the oncoming Konark Express. Six passengers were seriously injured and died on the spot. Srikakulam Superintendent of Police G. R. Radhika arrived at the spot. So far, the bodies of six passengers have been recovered by the police. The police are trying to find out whether any other people were injured in the accident, ‘said Radhika.

“The accident took place when a passenger suddenly derailed and the matter is being further investigated by the police and the railway team,” said Superintendent of Police G.S. R. Radhika has said.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has expressed grief. Jagan Mohan Reddy also directed the administration to take precautionary measures and not to neglect the treatment of the injured.
