Amravati: A tragic train accident took place late Monday night in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district. The accident took place when a passenger on the railway track bound for Guwahati was crushed under the Konark Express. Six people died on the spot in the accident, police said. According to the information received, the express train bound for Guwahati had stopped near Butwa village due to a technical glitch. As a result, some passengers of the train derailed, but at the same time, they were hit by the oncoming Konark Express. Six passengers were seriously injured and died on the spot. Srikakulam Superintendent of Police G. R. Radhika arrived at the spot. So far, the bodies of six passengers have been recovered by the police. The police are trying to find out whether any other people were injured in the accident, ‘said Radhika.
