9 days coal balance
Coal in the country has increased to 9%. Never before has there been so much demand. The country’s coal reserves have dwindled. Today, the country has enough coal reserves to last only 9 days. Earlier there was a stock balance of 14-15 days. It is a fact that the demand for coal has increased. But it is not possible to speed up the supply, said Areke Singh.
Coal crisis has hit about 10 states in the country. Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan and Telangana are facing coal shortage. Also, Jharkhand, Bihar, Haryana and Uttarakhand are getting less electricity than the demand. The demand for electricity in Uttar Pradesh is around 21,000 to 22,000 MW. However, only 19 to 20 MW of electricity is being supplied there.

State government responsible for Maharashtra coal crisis
Maharashtra is also facing coal shortage. Union Minister Raosaheb Danve has said that the state government is responsible for this situation. Due to lack of proper planning by the Maharashtra government, a dire situation like coal shortage has arisen in the state. And that has led to the power crisis. If the state government had prepared in advance, the state government would not have had to face the power crisis, said Raosaheb Danve.
