Bridges from China in the seized areas; Explanation of Ministry of External Affairs

News Agency, New Delhi: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Friday that bridges were being built in areas occupied by China since 1960. China is building a permanent bridge on the northern shore of Lake Pangong in Ladakh, according to satellite images. Concerns are being raised that the bridge will make it easier for China to make military moves.

Against that background, the above matter was clarified by the Ministry of External Affairs. Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said, “India has never allowed illegal seizure of land in this manner. A new bridge is being built in the vicinity of Pangong Lake, next to the site previously built.

We have been focusing on strengthening the infrastructure network in the border areas since 2014 to secure our borders, said Bagchi, adding that the government is committed to developing the infrastructure in the region. The development of these facilities will not only enhance the security situation but also the economic development of the area.
