PM visits mother; Opposition groups called for a boycott of the assembly

Meanwhile, young people across the country have taken to the streets to protest against the central government’s decision to recruit contracts in the armed forces through the Agneepath scheme. The movement, which till now was confined to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, has now reached Madhya Pradesh and Telangana. In Secunderabad, an angry mob of about 350 people set fire to a parcel bogie of a passenger train. One person was killed in a police firing to disperse protesters vandalizing the Secunderabad station. Rakesh is the name of the deceased. A senior South Central Railway official confirmed the man’s death and said the shooting was carried out by the Railway Protection Force (RPF).
