New Delhi: The ‘Agneepath’ scheme, which offers service opportunities to young people between the ages of 17 and 21 in the defense forces for four years, is facing strong opposition across the country. There are strong protests in many states against this plan. The agitation, which has been going on for the third day in a row in Bihar, has taken a violent turn. Protesters set fire to trains, smashed bus windows and hurled stones.

Meanwhile, incidents of stone throwing by some youths have also come to light in Balia. Police have been deployed on the railway tracks since this morning to stop the youth. Opposition in Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand too

Even in Madhya Pradesh, there is strong opposition to the Agneepath scheme. In Gwalior, youths blocked the highway. In Indore, about 150 youths are protesting against the scheme. Protests were held in several districts of Uttarakhand.

Internet off

The Haryana government is on alert mode over the opposition to the Agneepath project. On Friday, the Haryana government directed to shut down internet services in Ballabhgarh, Faridabad for the next 24 hours. The decision was taken by the Khattar government to maintain law and order.

Train canceled

Students’ agitation continues at Behiya railway station in Ara. So far 38 trains have been canceled due to student agitation. So, 72 trains are running late. In some places, protesters blocked the railways, while tires were burnt and thrown on the roads.

Criticism of opponents

Opposition parties, meanwhile, have been vocal in their opposition to the proposed Agneepath scheme for army recruitment. Demands are being made that the recruitment proposal be withdrawn. BJP MP Varun Gandhi has given the government a home run. He has written a letter to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh raising questions on several provisions of the scheme.
