Banda (Uttar Pradesh): A major accident has come to light in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh. On Raksha Bandhan, while the women were going back to Maheri in a boat to tie rakhi with their children, the boat sank in the middle of the Yamuna river due to the strong current of water. There were 35 people in this boat. Police with the help of locals pulled out as many as 18 people from the river, out of which three died while 15 have been admitted to the district hospital. It is reported that another 17 people are being searched.
After getting the information about this incident, the police of the concerned police station reached the spot and started the rescue operation. The incident took place in the Yamuna river in Marka police station limits of Banda district. Here a boat full of passengers coming towards Fatehpur from Marka side overturned. After the accident, there was a commotion at the scene.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the district administration to immediately reach the spot and carry out rescue and relief work regarding the accident in Yamuna river in Banda. Condoling the loss of life in the accident, he expressed his condolences to the bereaved families.
