Questions are being raised by the government over the funding of the movement. The farmers have answered this. Modi himself is funding the agitation against the Modi government at the Center. “We will pay the amount deposited in our account by the Modi government for the agitation,” said Balwinder Singh, a farmer from Sialka village.
Farmers in Punjab are going from house to house and in other villages appealing for support for the agitation. Citizens are donating between Rs 50,000 and Rs 5,000 as per their wish. This will send aid to agitating farmers in Delhi, said another farmer Jaspal Singh.
The Modi government has sent Rs 2,000 to our account and now we will send this money for the agitation. Our battle is with the government. We will not use even 1 rupee given by the government, said Jaspal Singh.
