Unnao rape case: Coma victim’s lawyer Mahendra Singh dies

Unnao: The case of Kuldeep Singh Sengar, a former BJP MLA who was sentenced to life imprisonment in a rape case, has come up for discussion once again today. The lawyer who defended the victim against Sanger died after being in a coma for 16 months. Seriously injured in a horrific truck and car accident in Rae Bareli district in July last year Advocate Mahendra Singh (Advocate Mahendra Singh) died at the district hospital today. On July 28, 2019, the victim was on her way to visit her cousin in Rae Bareli Jail. The victim’s aunt and cousin were killed in a head-on collision between a truck and a car near Atarua village in Gurbakhsh Ganj Thane area. Lawyer Mahendra Singh was in a coma due to serious injuries sustained in the accident. He was shifted from Lucknow to Delhi for treatment.

In February 2020, he was shifted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow. He was sent home from Lohia Hospital during Corona’s time. He was taken to hospital again last night due to ill health. He died during treatment there. The news of Mahendra Singh’s death caused grief among the lawyers.

Kuldeep Singh Sanger and Mahendra Singh were residents of the same village

In particular, Mahendra Singh was defending the victim in the Kuldeep Singh Sanger case. The case is being investigated by the CBI. A case was registered against 10 people and 15 other unidentified persons in the accident. The CBI could not get a reply from the lawyer as he was in a coma. Advocate Mahendra Singh and Kuldeep Singh Sanger are residents of the same village.
