Balwant Chauhan, 37, of Hirabag Circle, Varachha, was arrested by the Crime Branch Police after receiving information about a two-wheeler theft accused. After a thorough interrogation, he confessed to the crime. During the interrogation he gave shocking information. The wife’s older sister was married to a builder. She had a lot of money. His wife also loved hifi. But one salary did not meet those needs. To accomplish that, he began stealing bikes, the accused said.
His wife always scolded him for his financial situation. She always teased him. He was compared to his sister’s husband. So he resorted to stealing to make money. He used to earn fifteen to twenty thousand rupees a month by working in a diamond company. The job was also lost during the lockdown. So the accused started stealing the bike, police said. Police have seized 30 two-wheelers from the accused. He had stolen two-wheelers from Kapodra, Katargam, Warchha and Amaroli areas. He first stole the bike in 2017. He confessed to the police that he stole 25 bikes this year.
