Hold elections rather than making a traitor the Chief Minister; Direct attack by Gehlot group in Rajasthan

Jaipur: The ongoing power struggle in the Rajasthan Congress does not seem to be stopping. After Ashok Gehlot withdrew from the Congress president election, now meetings have started from Jaipur to Delhi regarding the post of Chief Minister of the state. On Thursday, Chief Minister Gehlot and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot met Congress President Sonia Gandhi separately. Both had said that after this meeting, the decision of the chief minister’s post will be taken by the party leadership.

After this incident in Delhi, the MLAs and ministers who are now in the Gehlot group have once again spoken the language of a big revolt. First Parsadi Lal Meena and now Cabinet Minister Govind Ram Meghwal have directly attacked the Sachin Pilot group. Mass resignations will be given if a new Chief Minister is made from the group of traitors. Meghwal has also said that he will face the mid-term elections.

Cabinet Minister Govind Ram Meghwal said in a press conference in Jaipur that if there is any change regarding the post of Chief Minister, all party MLAs will resign for Ashok Gehlot. The manner in which 92 MLAs had submitted their resignations to the Assembly Speaker last Sunday. If the Chief Minister is selected from the pilot group, then a similar situation can be seen.

Before Govind Meghwal, State Health Minister Persadi Lal Meena had also made such a statement a few days ago. As there is a rebellion in the pilot group against the Ashok Gehlot government, none of the MLAs from the party is ready to accept him as the Chief Minister. Sachin Pilot along with 18 MLAs challenged the Chief Minister in July 2020. Reacting to Meena’s statement, Meghwal said, Persadi Lal is a senior leader. They will not make any statement without reason.

A traitor like Pilot can never be accepted as Chief Minister. Only Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Ashok Gehlot are our leaders. Such statements made by ministers from the Gehlot group are said to be a pressure on the central leadership to keep Gehlot as the chief minister.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Shanti Dhariwal, like Meghwal, has accused state in-charge Ajay Maken of favoring Pilot. Maken did not take action against MLA Ved Prakash Solanki, who is a staunch pilot supporter. Meanwhile, the central leadership has warned both Gehlot and Pytal leaders not to make statements against each other. If this happens, action has also been warned.
