Farmer support; Players will return their Padma Shri, Arjuna awards

New Delhi: Farmers in Haryana and Punjab are on the streets against the new agricultural law even during the Coronation period. The farmers are demanding that the central government repeal the new agriculture law or include a minimum guarantee in the provisions of the law. The support of the farmers’ movement is increasing day by day. Many former players, who have been awarded Padma Shri and Arjuna awards, have supported farmers protesting against agricultural laws. The players have decided to return their awards, protesting against the BJP government’s use of force against the protesters.

The award will be held outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan

The players include Padma Shri and Arjuna Award winning wrestler Kartar Singh, Arjuna Award winning player Sajjan Singh Cheema and hockey player Rajbir Kaur. The players have said that they will go to Delhi on December 5 and place their awards outside the Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The players also condemned the Modi government at the Center and the Khattar government in Haryana for using water and tear gas on protesters during cold days to stop the farmers from leaving for Delhi.

“We are the children of farmers and they have been protesting peacefully for the last several months. No violent incidents took place during this period. However, he was forced to leave for Delhi. “What will we do with our awards and honors if our elders and brothers’ turbans are insulted?” It also includes Gurmel Singh and Surinder Singh Sodhi. Both were members of the Indian hockey team that won gold medals at the 1980 Moscow Olympics.
