Border Security Force (BSF) sub-inspector Paotinsat Guite was killed in an attack by Pakistani forces on Tuesday in violation of the ceasefire. The incident took place on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The incident took place while BSF was celebrating its foundation day on Tuesday. A statement issued by the BSF said that Pakistani forces attacked Indian troops on the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri division on Tuesday. Sub-inspector Paotinsat Guite, who was stationed at the front post, was pronounced dead.

Guite not only responded to the enemy’s onslaught, but also saved the lives of many of his colleagues. In response to the atrocity, the BSF hit Pakistani outposts hard, the statement said.

Meanwhile, Pakistani forces opened indiscriminate firing on border posts at Karol Krishna, Gurnam and Pansar near the international border in Kathua district between 9.35 pm on Monday and 4.40 am on Tuesday.
