New Delhi: India has alerted the Canadian High Commissioner to remarks made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other leaders on the Farmer Protest. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has told the Canadian High Commissioner that the remarks of Canadian leaders on the issue of farmers are an intolerable interference in our internal affairs. The Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau had reacted to the ongoing farmers’ movement in India. “Canada has always stood for peaceful protests,” Trudeau said in a video.

“The situation is worrisome,” Trudeau said, defending the farmers’ agitation against the Modi government’s three new agricultural laws at the Center. Speaking on the sidelines of an online event marking the 551st birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, Trudeau said: The situation is worrisome and we are all worried about your family and friends. There are a lot of people we know. Canada stands for the rights of peaceful protesters.

India did not like the Canadian Prime Minister’s response to the farmers’ movement. India reacted sharply on Tuesday, saying Trudeau’s response was based on misleading information and was inappropriate. India had said that the issue was related to the internal affairs of a democratic country.
