The President had earlier approved the name of Justice Nathalapati Venkat Ramana as the Chief Justice. On March 24, Justice. Justice Sharad Bobade Ramana’s name was recommended to the central government.
NV Ramana, who has more than 45 years of experience in the judiciary and is well versed in constitutional matters, will complete his term on August 26, 2022. He will remain in office till he completes 65 years of age. Of course, he will remain the Chief Justice for less than two years.
NV Ramana was the first Andhra Pradesh High Court judge to reach the post of Chief Justice.
Who is NV Ramana?
– Chief Justice NV Ramana’s full name is Nathapalpati Venkat Ramana. He was born on 27th August 1957 in a farming family in Ponnavaram village in Krishna district of Andhra Pradesh.
– He had taken his first step in this field as a lawyer on February 10, 1983. He had earlier served as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court and the Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court. He also served as the President of the Justice Academy of Andhra Pradesh
– Justice Ramana was the Acting Chief Justice of the Andhra Pradesh High Court from March 10, 2013 to May 20, 2013. He was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court in 2013
– His decision to provide internet facility in Jammu and Kashmir was one of the most important and discussed decisions of the last few years
– He will retire on August 26, 2022
