The prime minister’s chief adviser has also warned of a third wave of corona. If people in Delhi are vaccinated, the risk of a third wave can be reduced. Saying that anything can happen with the help of the central government, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has shifted the responsibility of providing vaccines for corona vaccination to the Center.
Delhi has a population of 2 crores. The population over the age of 18 is about 15 million, of which 59 lakh are over 45 years.
So far, the Delhi government has received 4 million doses. But 1.5 crore people in Delhi will have to be vaccinated. For this we need another 2.6 crore vaccines.
To complete the vaccination in three months, 3 lakh people need to be vaccinated every day. At present, about one lakh people are being vaccinated in a day, said Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.
At present doses are being given to youth below 45 years of age. There is a lot of enthusiasm among the youth for vaccination. People are happy with the government system. The vaccination system has been made available in about 100 schools and in the next few days, the facility will be made available in 250 to 300 more schools, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said at a press conference.
The Supreme Court’s understanding of the Center
Earlier, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had demanded 700 metric tonnes of oxygen from the Center for the capital. The apex court had also directed Delhi to supply 799 metric tonnes of oxygen per day. However, the apex court had persuaded the Center not to take the time to take a tough decision as it was observed that the orders had not been complied with even after that.
