New Delhi: The whole country is currently facing the second wave of coronavirus (covid 19 pandemic). In this situation, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government at the Center has re-imposed an order from the tenure of the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru after 57 years. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoP & T) has enacted a 1964 order. Government employees who have completed medical education are allowed to perform medical services in their spare time (modi government).

Although not in the medical field, many employees have a medical degree

The DOPT issued the leaflet referring to the order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on February 29, 1964. Accordingly, the HOD has been asked to allow government employees with recognized qualifications in any pharmaceutical system to start medical services. But the order issued by the central government now does not require any permission from the HOD to provide medical services. But a condition has been imposed for this. It has been said that private medical care should not affect the basic services of the employee. Many IAS, IPS and other officers have completed medical education. Now they can use their qualifications to provide medical services.

Order issued due to the growing crisis in Corona

The number of corona patients in the country is increasing. The government has issued an order in this regard on May 12. This has allowed qualified medical personnel to provide medical services or provide treatment advice over the phone. This order is effective immediately. The order said that this medical service should be provided in free time and with due diligence.

The Central Government has issued orders to all departments. Accordingly, this service should be done only in idle time and with a sense of service.
