New Delhi: Talking about the farmers’ agitation, Union Railway Minister and Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal made a controversial statement. Piyush Goyal claimed that the leadership of this movement was not in the hands of the farmers but in the hands of the Maoists and the Left. Goyal says that the Left is trying to sell its agenda through this movement. Goyal also urged the farmers not to negotiate with the government. He was talking to Navbharat Times.

Farmers are being provoked by the Maoists and the Left. The doors of government are always open for farmers. He said the government was ready to discuss every issue.

This law will be of great benefit to the farmers of the country. He emphasized that the government had no plans to repeal the law, saying that it would not be possible for a few people to lose their livelihood.

Farmers should contact the government if they want to discuss the provisions of the bill. The government is always ready for discussion. The remaining question is MSP, meaning minimum guarantee, but the Lok Sabha has assured the farmers that MSP will not be withdrawn. MSP will continue. This year, 23 per cent more farmers bought foodgrains. He hoped that the farmers would understand these laws which are in the interest of the country.
