Farmers’ Movement LIVE: Protesters preparing to block Delhi-Jaipur highway

New Delhi: Today (Saturday) is the 17th day of the farmers’ agitation against the Agriculture Act. The protesters have decided to intensify the agitation after the demands of the protesters were ignored by the government. Farmers today announced to cordon off the toll plaza and close the Delhi-Jaipur highway. So there are signs of traffic jams on this route. On the other hand, security arrangements have been deployed by the administration to prevent any mishap. Police have been alerted in Gurugram and Faridabad.

– Indian Farmers Union President Rakesh Tikait asked, “Are traitorous elements involved in this agitation?” Such a question was asked. At the time, they said, ‘they should be caught by the Central Intelligence Agency. If people from a banned organization have infiltrated us, they should be caught and imprisoned. So far no one was able to send in the perfect solution, which is not strange. If found, we will run away, ‘said Tikait.

– A large number of farmers from Haryana are still marching towards Delhi. In Kurukshetra district, the farmers left for Delhi in a tractor. There is a long line of tractors on the road. All of them have gone out to support the protesters on the Singhu border in Delhi.

– Faridabad police are on alert following a warning from farmers’ unions to close the toll plaza. The big challenge for the police is not to allow question marks to appear on the law and order during the agitation. About 3500 police have been deployed for this.

On the other hand, in Haryana too, 3500 police personnel were deployed at all the five toll plazas against the backdrop of the agitation. Police are equipped with anti-riot equipment.

– Bastara toll plaza was closed by protesters in Haryana on Friday night. The Shambhu Toll Plaza in Ambala was also closed in protest of agricultural laws. He was then made toll free.

– All toll plazas in Uttar Pradesh have been directed for safety and vigilance. Police have been deployed at all 130 toll plazas in the state. Fire brigade, Uttar Pradesh 112, intelligence agencies have also been ordered to remain alert.

– Farmer leader Balbir Singh Rajewal had warned on December 12 to block the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Meanwhile, farmers will also stage agitation in front of the houses of District Collector and BJP leaders.
