Jyotiraditya Scindia: Air India and Jyotiraditya Shinde, both ‘Maharaja’ for sale: Bhupesh Baghel

New Delhi: Union Minister Jyotiraditya Shinde has taken charge of the civil aviation ministry in the Modi cabinet. Since then, the one-time Congress leader has come under fire from the opposition. Congress leader and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Wednesday took the opportunity to make a similar remark. This time, he called Air India and Jyotiraditya Shinde ‘for sale’.

The government is trying to sell Air India. Now the responsibility of this ministry has been handed over to Jyotiraditya Shinde. The logo of Air India is ‘Maharaja’. Both (Jyotiraditya Shinde and Air India) are for sale. One of them is going to be auctioned and the responsibility of selling it has been handed over to another, said Bhupesh Baghel, criticizing Shinde.

Remarkably, the Modi cabinet has recently been expanded. This was the first cabinet expansion in the second term of the Modi government. This is the first time that BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP from Madhya Pradesh Jyotiraditya Shinde has been given the ministry post and the responsibility of the civil aviation ministry has been handed over to him.

Earlier, Jyotiraditya Shinde had left the Congress and joined the BJP last year. The Kamanlath government in Madhya Pradesh had collapsed after some MLAs resigned along with him. After that, BJP had formed a new government in the state under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
