New Delhi: Against the backdrop of the threat of a third wave of Kovid transition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray interacted with the Chief Ministers of six states through video conferencing. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also attended the meeting. Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha and Kerala were present at the meeting. In this meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave the example of Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Prime Minister Modi also mentioned Yogi’s ‘3 T’ model.

To prevent coronavirus infection, the Uttar Pradesh government has worked out a strategy on vaccination including ‘Three T’ i.e. Test, Trace and Treat. UP has conducted 5.7 crore tests. It has a test capacity of 1.5 lakh per day. The people of Uttar Pradesh have rejected the SP and BSP in the Zilla Parishad and local elections and made them sit at home and hand over the responsibility of work to the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in front of the six Chief Ministers.

‘The threat of a third wave is being repeatedly expressed. In some states the transition situation is still worrisome. Last week, about 80 per cent of new corona cases were reported from the states where you are from (Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Odisha and Kerala). Cases are on the rise in Maharashtra and Kerala. This is a serious concern for us, for the country. Experts say that the risk of coronavirus mutation increases if there is a continuous increase. The risk of a new variant increases. Therefore, it is necessary to take effective steps to prevent the third wave, ‘said the Prime Minister.

Funds are being made available to all the states in the country for setting up new ICU beds, increasing testing capacity as well as meeting all other requirements. The central government has recently released an emergency covid response package worth over Rs 23,000 crore, ‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated in the meeting.

Besides Uddhav Thackeray, the meeting was also attended by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
