Bangalore: NCP President Sharad Pawar today called on Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai. The meeting took place at the Chief Minister’s residence in Bangalore. The two leaders discussed the issue of water sharing in Maharashtra and Karnataka.

In Maharashtra, especially in western Maharashtra, Sangli and Kolhapur districts are experiencing torrential rains. The floods of Krishna river in Sangli and Panchganga river in Kolhapur are taking a heavy toll on the citizens. Against this backdrop, Sharad Pawar met Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai in Bangalore today, ANI has reported.

Sharad Pawar and Chief Minister Bommai discussed the issue of water sharing between Maharashtra and Karnataka. Apart from this, proper coordination between Maharashtra and Karnataka during the pre-war period was also discussed. The two leaders decided to hold a detailed meeting on the issue soon. It was decided to hold a meeting to discuss water issues and river water sharing between the two states. The two leaders also decided to hold the next meeting in Delhi.

In a tweet, Sharad Pawar expressed hope that the two states would work together and the cooperation would continue in the same way.
